In chapter 6, in the beginning, Dill had noticed that Mr. Avery was on his porch and then all of a sudden, they saw an arc of water falling from the leaves. This is considered imagery because Mr. Avery was actually peeing off of his porch. Dill said, "Mrs. Avery must drink a gallon a day!" (pg.13). When Dill said that, Finch had just noticed that he was peeing. Dill and Jim also argued over who could pee farther and Finch, of course, was being left out because she was a girl. This is an example of point of view because they all have different point of view on the situation. Finch says, "And then Dill and Jem argued over which one of them could pee further, and of course I felt left out again being a girl and all," (pg 13). The author's purpose of using imagery is let their audience visualise a big gush of water and then once they read more they figure out that it wasn't what they thought it was.

In chapter 5 of the book How to Kill a Mockingbird, Jean goes and visits her neighbor named Miss Maudie. Jean asks her if she thinks Boo Radely is dead. She replies with ''What a morbid question. I know he's still alive, Jean Louise, because I haven't seen anyone carry out a body,"(5). At this point, they both had different points of view weather he was alive or not because he never leaves his house. Another example of the different point of views is when Atticus finds out that the kids were trying to bother Boo Radley. However, Jem and Dill said to Atticus, “We’re askin’ him real politely to come out sometimes, and tell us what he does in there. We said we wouldn’t hurt him and we’d buy him an ice cream," (9). Jem and Dill were eventually gave in and told Atticus that they were playing the game that he said not to play about Boo Radley.
In chapter 4 in the book To Kill a Mockingbird, Jean finally meets up with with her friend Dill when the school year ends. The conflict happens when Jean was on her swing and she couldn't stop and get off because she was going too fast. She says "I lay on the cement for a while and hear Jem’s voice: “Scout, get away from there, come on!” I opened my eyes and realized I was at the front of the Radley’s steps" (p.8) The Radley's House is supposedly haunted and she got very frightened that she did not want to do her play on that house anymore. Atticus had said to not continue with the play because it was disrespectful. Jean also agreed to not go on with the play because she said that "The second reason had to do with what happened earlier that day. After I rolled into the Radley’s yard, I heard not only Jem’s voice yelling but also another sound. It was a soft sound. Someone inside of the house was laughing" (p.9). She was very spooked out from this because know one lives in the Radley's house. She thought she was getting haunted because she stole the gum and 2 pennies from their tree.In chapter 3 of the book How to Kill a Mockingbird, the author shows the different point of views of the characters. For example, Jean explains that her teacher Miss Caroline "I told him all
that had happened in the day and even the part about Miss Caroline saying that he had taught me all wrong so we couldn’t read together anymore" (p.7). Jean says this because of what happened the chapter before. Her teacher didn't want Jean's dad to teach her how to read. When Atticus, Jean's Father, asked to read with her that night, she said she wanted to quit school and that he cannot read with her anymore. Atticus responded differently to what Miss Caroline said. He said, "You can’t punish the children for the father’s faults. Atticus and I made a compromise. If I agreed to go to school, then we could continue reading together each night, but we better keep it a secret." (p.7). Her father says this because he does not think it was right for Miss Caroline to not let him read with his daughter. In chapter two, Jean talks about her first day of school. My describes her teacher named, Miss Caroline as "She was twenty-one years old and very pretty. She had bright auburn hair, pink cheeks, and wore crimson fingernail polish. Miss Caroline was from Winston County, which is in northern Alabama." That day at school, Miss Caroline had found out that Jean had already knew how to read and write. Jean stated that in paragraph three that "She wanted to teach me to read herself...I think it disappointed her that I already knew how." Before lunch had started, Miss Caroline noticed that Walter Cunningham had no lunch. She asked if he wanted some money for food, but he declined. Jean had told Miss Caroline that he’s a Cunningham. Jean meant that "the Cunninghams were very poor farmers, but they never took charity." Miss Caroline thought that she was being rude and making jokes. She told her to take out her hand and when she did this, her teacher had whipped her twelve times with a ruler. Miss Caroline had told her to sit in the corner and wait for the lunch bell to ring. I think that it was unnecessary for her teacher to do that because she wasn't doing anything wrong.
In the book "To Kill a Mockingbird," by Harper Lee, the narrator of the story Jean Louise “Scout” Finch has a brother named Jem. Their father's name is Atticus Finch and their aunt's name is Alexandra. The setting of this book takes place in Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930's. In the beginning of the book on page two, it stated that "the city of Maycomb was a tired, old town back in the days. People moved slowly, ambling across the town square.." It also says that the people in the town never had anything to do. The narrator "Jean" also explains how her and her brother meet a boy named Charles Baker Harris. He is the nephew of their neighbor named Miss Rachel and his parents call him Dill. Together, Jean, Jem, and Charles, would each other stories, leading them to start talking about the Radley House. The book also states on page three that" There was a rumor that it was haunted. People said “Boo” Radley went out at night and peeped in people’s windows. That he breathed on flowers and they froze instantly. They said he committed little crimes in the night but not one ever saw him." At the end of chapter one, Jem was dared to go touch the spooky house and when he ran back to his house, they thought they saw something moving in there.
